Why the Hell Is the Space Shuttle Cruising the Gulf Of Mexico Today?

NASA astronaut Gregory H. Johnson and his pal Steve Robinson were aerial a T-38 today over the abysm and noticed this awe-inspiring scene: the amplitude shuttle canoeing on lath a barge. "Not something you see every day," he says. Indeed!

The shuttle is the Explorer, the abounding shuttle replica that was installed Kennedy Amplitude Center Visitor Complex, in Florida. Explorer—which acutely never flew to space—has been replaced by Atlantis. Explorer is now en avenue to the Johnson Amplitude Center in Houston, Texas. [Twitter via Dvice]
