Dean Kamen Appears on Colbert Report, Literally Armed with Bionic Limb

Dean Kamen is both awfully shy and aloof if it comes to media appearances, but Stephen Colbert was able to allurement him in with his earnest, unrelenting, bourgeois agenda. And Kamen even brought his DARPA-funded bionic Luke Arm. Full video:

If you haven't heard Kamen's "stick and a hook" lamentations afore (and even if you have), the accent is appreciably poignant. Aimee Mullins (and abounding others since) may accept angry active sprinting on carbon cilia bobcat legs, but arm amputees (of any sort) don't accept admission to any array of high end achievement spectrum—the wrist and duke are just too intricate.

I assumption my point is, no amputee is absolutely the aforementioned and no amputee can say their prosthesis approaches the absolute thing, so absolution my generalizations. But Kamen is right—the accepted technology out there for arms/wrists/hands is apace shameful. [The Colbert Report via Engadget]
